Sports Festival Arc[]
His alice restraint mask was stolen by Natsume, because Natsume wanted to get close to Mikan to comfort her, however at the time could not as Luna was between them. Kusami's postion in the Borrowing Race would be given to Natsume accidentely, because Natsume was mistaken for him (Natsume was wearing Kusami's mask and at the time no one knew it was not Kusami himself). His mask would be taken a second time when Natsume went to hug Mikan. Kusami who admires Natsume held no hard feelings for Natsume stealing his mask and promised to keep this incident a secret.
